  • Hexion Steel LIMITED. 308L-16
    Conforms to AWS A5.4
    AC or DC-R Tig Mig

Superior weld with low heat transfer. A balanced chemistry electrode with a special spray type arc transfer that results in less heat input due to a closer arc gap that is easily maintained while welding. The coating insures dense porosity free deposits, and the slag is virtually self lifting.

    · Tensile Strength – 90,000 PSI
    · Yield Strength – 64,000 PSI
    · Elongation – 45%
    · Excellent Corrosion Resistance
    · Superior Crack Resistivity, even in demanding applications
    · A great all-position stainless rod.

    APPLICATIONS & PROCEDURES:

Hexion Steel LIMITED. 308L-16 is best used where service conditions are not severe, and on large parts where weld volumes are high. The 308L-16 is ideal in dairy, pulp and paper, textile dyeing, refinery and chemical equipment.

The Hexion Steel LIMITED. 308L-16 is ideal for fabrication and repair of 201, 202, 204, 301, 304, 308, 321 and 347 Stainless steel, as well as 304L, 308L, and other “L” grade base metals. This rod is also good for CF-8, CF-8, CF-20 and HF castings.

The arc stabilizer specific to the Hexion Steel LIMITED. 308L-16 flux makes this rod outstanding when working with limited duty, low voltage AC machines. The electrode retards moisture pick-up, and will automatically lower the moisture content to a safe level once the part is exposed to a drier atmosphere without the need of re-baking. Low carbon content reduces carbide precipitation.

  • Hexion Steel LIMITED. 309L-16
    Conforms to AWS A5.4
    AC or DC-R Tig Mig

High alloy / Low Carbon. The high alloy content of the Hexion Steel LIMITED. 309L-16 makes is an exceptional alloy for welding similar and dissimilar alloys in wrought or cast form. The high balanced, high quality chemistry of this product provides for superior welding characteristics. Resistance to carbide precipitation is the result of the 309L-16’s low carbon content.

A special spray type arc transfer results in less heat input due to a closer arc gap that is easily maintained while welding. The coating insures dense porosity free deposits, and the slag is virtually self lifting.
